Geranium 100% - (Pelargonium graveolens)

The Geranium is a hairy perennial shrub, sometimes used in hedgerows, and stand up to about one metre high. They have pointed leaves, serrated at the edges and pinkish-white flowers. The leaves and stalks are used for extraction, and the oil is obtained through steam distillation. Be aware that some aromatherapy sources caution about using this essential oil during pregnancy.

Aromatherapists use Geranium as an antidepressant, astringent, diuretic, antiseptic, anti-depressant, tonic, antibiotic, anti-spasmodic and anti-infectious tonic and sedative. The strong smell is particularly good to ward off mosquitoes and head lice.

Burners and vaporizers In vapour therapy geranium oil can be used to help relieve stress, mild depression, PMS, anxiety and tension, menopausal problems and for general energizing.
